I'm gonna buy...

"Mommy, a coin!"  Braden so happily said when he found a quarter on the couch.  I said, "Do you want it?  Now that you have money, you can buy lots of food or toys!"  He said, "No no, I want to buy... BOOKS!"

Of course, mommy is so happy and is hoping for a genius in the making! Haha!

TV's broken!!

When our TV broke, Braden was asking to watch something on TV.  I said, "Braden, you cannot watch because our TV is broken." Braden said, "Fix it Mommy."  I said, "No, mommy and daddy can't fix it."  He said, "How about our neighbour???"  I laughed and said, "No, not our neighbour.  We need to call somebody to come here to fix it, but we need to give them lots of money."  Braden, clearly distraught, said, "OH NO... I don't have money, what do we now?"  Then after a few seconds of thinking, he looked at me and smiled, "Wait a minute, wait a minute.  I have a great idea!  Let's all watch the videos in Daddy's computer!"

Yup, that's Braden my TV addict son. If he really wants to watch, he will really find ways to do so!

The Best EVER!

Braden and I were playing bubbles on the deck when he said "It's so much fun Mommy!"  I said, "Yeah it is!  You're so good at making bubbles. So good! The Best!"  He then quickly said, "Yeah, EVER!"

Your hair Mommy!

When Braden found a strand of my hair on the floor, he picked it up and said, "Your hair Mommy! You forgot?"  I asked, "Forgot what?" He answered, "You forgot to clean up??  Here you go, I'll put it back!"  He then quickly comes to me and puts the strand of hair on my head.  Thanks Braden!

Doctor's visit

Braden was  really sick yesterday so I brought him to see the doctor.  He didn't want to go at first, but I told him that the doctor will give us the "gamot" (medicine) to make him feel better.  So he agreed.  When we were in doctor's room,  the doctor came in and checked him.  Then after the doctor gave me the prescription, he left the room.  When Braden saw the doctor leaving, he quickly shouted to the doctor "Where is my gamot?!?!"

Two men

When Braden saw the two men who came in our house, he quickly said, "Hello mans!"

Counting to 30

When Braden first learned how to count to 30, he was having a hard time remembering "Thirty".  He would count.. "twenty six, twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine, and.... twenty ten!"

You lost your what??

I have a cold and cough that started two days ago.  Last night I was coughing so hard that my throat was hurting so bad that caused me to lose my voice.  When Braden was talking to me, I couldn't talk back.  While pointing at my throat, I whispered, "Braden, I can't talk... I lost my voice...."  Totally confused, Braden said,  "Huh?? Mommy, you lost your neck???"  Clearly he didn't hear me loud enough!

What do you want for your birthday?

Braden loves loves loves animals, particularly farm animals, and particularly cows.  (He sings Old MacDonald ten times a day!)

There was one day last month when I asked him, "What gift do you want for your birthday?"  He answered "I want a farm!"   I laughed and I told him, "Braden, a farm is too big!  I can't give you a farm.  What do you want for your birthday then?"   Braden shouted "A COW!"

One more on this topic...

Another time, he was reading a book about a farm when he said "I love farms!" I said, "Oh do you want to be a farmer when you grow up?"  He quickly answered "No, A COW!"    (Again!)

Swimming on Friday only

Braden always sees the pool whenever we walk by our hotel when we were at Disneyland.  He always asks us "Can I go swimming in the water please?"  We always say "No, not today."  But we always feel bad because he really wants to go.  On Wednesday morning when we were walking out from our hotel, he asked us the same question again.  I felt I owe it to him to give him an explanation.  I then told him, "Braden, we are going swimming on Friday only."  He kept quiet and looked at me so I continued.  "So that means, we still have to sleep two more nights.  Because today is Wednesday and not Friday. Then we sleep tonight.  And when we wake up again tomorrow, it is only Thursday, and not Friday again.  Then we sleep again. Then when you wake up after that, it's Friday. Then we can go swimming!  So everyday when you wake up in the morning, you can always ask us if it's Friday, ok?"  He didn't answer and so I asked again "Ok Braden?"  He looked at me and answered a loud "HUH???"

Wow, all that talking for nothing!

Baby Mac speaks Spanish

Baby Mac loves to babble now.  I was playing with him this morning and he started saying "Ooo aah".  Braden quickly ran beside me and said with much excitement "Mommy, mommy, mommy!"  I said "What??"  He happily said  "Baby Mac is saying 'Hola' like Dora!!"

Cloudy day

When Braden was drinking his milk in the kitchen when he woke up this morning, he started singing the Sesame Street theme song.  He went "Sunny day, sweepin' the clouds away."  He suddenly stopped singing, looked out the window and started singing "CLOUDY day, sweepin' the SUN away...." Then said "It's a cloudy day Mommy!"

Braden counting in Spanish

Braden counts in Spanish as "Uno, dos, tres, Pablo, cinco!"

P.S.  He loves Pablo from Backyardigans

Sarcastic Braden

Braden was sitting on the buggy when we were grocery shopping yesterday.  I gave him my iPhone to play with so he doesn't ask to run around the store again.  When we were at the frozen section, I took a bag of frozen fries since it was his favorite.  I then said to him "Braden, look what mommy got for you."  He was so engrossed with playing on the phone and he didn't even look at me.  I told him "Braden, look, mommy got you some fries."  Again, no reaction.  Then I told him, "Oh you don't look happy that I got fries for you, so I'm just going to put them back."  He quickly looked up at me, showed a huge and very forced smile, and sarcastically said.. "I'm SOOOO happy!"

I'm so sad....

Braden was so scared when I took him to the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland.  He was trying not to look at the scary effects and was only looking at my lap throughout the ride.  When we met with Daddy and baby Mac after the ride, he told Daddy, "Daddy, I'm so sad....."  One minute later, he saw a band on the side of the street playing music.  Just then, he said "Daddy, I'm so happy again!!"

Salsa suka!

We taught Braden how to play "Sawsaw Suka" months before.  Last night when we were eating salsa, he asked, "Daddy, what is that??"  Daddy answered, "It's called Salsa".  Braden, suddenly looking bewildered , said, "Oh, is that the salsa suka, Daddy??"

what is this blog about??

I realized that my son Braden has so many funny moments to just let them pass by.  I thought I'd compile them here so I won't forget and for Braden and Mac to read them sometime in the future.

My wonderful kids Braden born Nov. 20, 2007 and Mackenzie born Oct. 28, 2009.
